Ok. It's true. We grow Taches because we secretly love the reaction we get when we start sprouting our gorgeous, ticklish nose neighbours. But, we're also in it for the money - the tons of lovely money we raise for Everyman in the fight against male cancer.
Top Tache Fundraiser 2008

And this year, the person who raises the most money and has sent it in to Everyman by 30th November 2008 will win the star prize of 2 return Eurostar tickets to Paris, Brussels or Lille. So, come on gents - let's make this September a seriously hair-raising month.

And, new for 2008, our weekly challenges are sponsored by our friends at Remington. For the 4 weeks of September (Tachetember?) you could win a Remington PG400 personal grooming kit. Pretty funky - and perfect for shaping the ultimate Tache.
Week 4 challenge

It’s also your last chance to win a Remington PG400 personal grooming kit. Don’t pretend you wouldn’t mind winning that now!
PS. Meet last weeks mighty macho Tache challenge warrior here
Steven Goldsworthy says: "To cultivate the perfect 'tache, you must know the look you want and work towards this. Remington's PG400 7-in-1Grooming Kit features all of the trimming attachments and cutters to achieve any look, given a little time and creativity."
Week 1 challenge
Shout to the world
It's far too early for Tache wax. But the perfect time to wax lyrical. At the end of this week we'll be reading what you've written on your Tache Warrior HQ page to encourage your supporters to sponsor you. The very best effort by midday on 05/09/08, as judged by Atters, will win a Remington PG400 personal grooming kit. So, if you've yet to add your own spin to the words we provided, why not pop along to your Tache Warrior HQ now and customise it by writing something clever, moving, motivational or just downright silly. Let your imagination run riot - there are no rules - but please do keep it clean as this is a family site.
Steven Goldsworthy says: "Remington's PG400 7-in-1Grooming Kit offers seven trimming options designed to cater for any combination of moustache, beard and other facial accoutrements. Using a combination of these will mean you can achieve any shape and style you want."
Week 3 challenge
Going underground
Taches have been used as a form of disguise for centuries. But why stop there? For this week's challenge we want you to go deep, deep undercover. Grab some shades, get those collars turned up, 'borrow' some makeup, make yourself an eye-patch... there are no limits. It's all about becoming someone else for this photo challenge. Upload your photo to your Tache Warrior HQ before xx/xx/xx. The most deviously inventive, stunning, surprising or spectacular will win a Remington PG400 personal grooming kit.
Week 4 challenge
You've pulled
Your Tache should now be reaching its prime. And what better way to show everyone the finished article than with some downright ridiculous face pulling. Come on chaps. Gurn away for the camera, upload the results to your Tache Warrior HQ by xx/xx/xx and give the world a laugh. The most ridiculous facial expression will win a Remington PG400 personal grooming kit.
Week 4 winner
Hair today, gone a few days after tomorrow
Paul Cowley aka ROUGH has won a Remington PG400 for fantastic face pulling on his Tache Warrior HQ page.
Atters says:
If you’ve got it flaunt it I say! Mr Cowley’s first class gurning is guaranteed to draw “maximus” attention to what is most evidently a winning moustache. His striking pose also heralds the fact that fundraisers now only have a few days left of “Moustachius” fun to go, so come on tache sponsors… Help them all grow with a big “Tally-ho!”
Week 1 winner
Shout to the world
jameswallis won a Remington PG400 for waxing lyrical on his Tache Warrior HQ page.
Atters says: "What a splendidly cultivated wad of dosh! As for James's whiskers, well... it's early days! Fuzz growing is always fun but James has also (most poignantly) highlighted the real reasons for supporting Everyman.
Quick tip: draw a large curly outline of a Baron Munchausen Tache over your stubble and carefully (wet) shave around it. With a toothbrush apply some black boot polish and bingo! You're the Baron in an instant!"
